Prime Minister John Key in Christchurch tomorrow will travel with his wife Bronagh to observe silence at the national two minutes for the earthquake victims and their families Christchurch.
It will be at 12h51, the time the earthquake struck the city.
"This is a time when the country want to get together and pay tribute to those families who lost loved ones who suffer as a result of the earthquake, " Mr Key said today.
"It will be particularly important for me to be with my family."
Mr. Key was born in Auckland and raised in Christchurch, while his wife was born and raised in the city.
They observe two minutes silence on the forecourt of Christchurch Art Gallery.
